The forum, attended by leaders in politics, business, including 32 ministers and 12 Nobel laureates, dealt with ethical, safety and environmental issues pertaining to advances in science and technology. The event, attended by several hundred university faculty from a variety of departments, provided a broad showcase for work that promotes engaged student learning.   Leave the podium, become a coach!

May 18, 2007 -- Mazur "conquered the audience" during his hour-long lecture on education at the Fundação Serralves in Porto, writes Andrea Freitas in the Portuguese daily Público. The lecture was the first in a cycle on education in a series entitled Crítica do contemporâneo. In it Mazur used examples from his teaching career to convince the audience that every teacher ought to abandon the podium and take on the role of a coach to help students learn. More
